Hi,
I am thinking of purchasing 2 x AKASO EK7000 4K30FPS 20MP Action Camera Ultra HD to be used for capturing indoor basketball games. I am just wondering if anyone has had any experience in getting this to work with ActionStitch and what the quality results have been like.
I am looking for an entry level camera, overall quality (resolution and sound) is not overly important.
Is there a Calibration File for Akaso EK7000 and a 3D Printer file for the camera mount?
Alternatively, can someone recommend a camera for under $100ea that is available and produces reasonable results.
I would not suggest EK7000 since it is not a real 4k camera. If you still want to use it I made a calibration file for it before: https://github.com/gilbertchen/actionstitch-player/tree/main/calibration
Where do we place the calibration file so that it can be accessed? I downloaded it and selected it (manual selection vs. the options), but it just got stuck loading…
Can you try again? Make sure to select the calibration file inside the camera selection dialog, not as a video file.
I did get it to work, thank you.
One thing though, I have a two Akaso Brave 7 LE’s…are those also fake 4k? I’ve already invested a lot of time and effort in getting things set up. It’s not perfect, but it is working for now…is the EK7000 camera different (would the Brave 7 need a different file)?
Is there also a stereolithography (STL) for the AKASO EK 7000 or can one be created?
Dimensions: 6 x 4.2 x 3.1 cm
Angel? Certainly not 170 degrees
I have two cameras of this type and am currently filming from the rear-view perspective (each behind one goal). I would now like to create a different angle using the software without having to buy two new cameras.
Many thanks in advance.
I can make a stl file for EK 7000 but I need more accurate measurements. Can you measure the dimensions again with a Vernier caliper?
I uploaded the stl file to actionstitch-player/mounts at main · gilbertchen/actionstitch-player · GitHub. Please be aware that there is no guarantee that it would fit the cameras perfectly. You may need to make some adjustments.
Since its not a real 4k camera (shame on me for not doing my research before buying it), does it matter for the calibration file whether I record in 4k or 1080p? SInce the optics is the same and the image just scaled can I use the same file (and save tons of space). Also when I ordered the cameras I originally ordered one silver and one blue, only to notice that they are very different from each with regards to their lens (and the blue one was an older revision), do you think I would need a new calibration file as this file is probably old?
