I think this has been discussed before, but I am still having audio sync issues. It doesn’t matter if I stitch on my PC or my Mac. It tends to happen on both. At worst it can be as far out as a second, but usually half a second or so is how it ends up. Not a big deal if it is watched back without audio, but wanting to hear and listen to the coaches instructions, you end up seeing the ball kicked, and then a second or so later you hear the kick. Can be hard to watch that way. Is there any fix for this other than aligning it in a separate program after the fact and then having to reencode which tends to lose more quality? I use a pair of GoPro 11’s @ 5.6k 8x7. I always select the track from the side that the coach was on. My current workflow is-
Actionstitch>
Once AutoCam>
Davinci to fix drift and export at a large bitrate>
Compress with Handbrake
Doing all of this seems like I am able to retain MOST of the quality, but it would of course be easier and better to just have to do the first 2 steps (or 1 step if ActionStitch ends up adding ball tracking in the program- wink wink nudge nudge)
The only issue with that is the original files add up to about 220 or 230 gb. I will try to stitch the first two videos or maybe the first pair of videos from each camera and see if it’s still off. If it is at that point then I will share the videos with you. Sound groovy?
Sending a DM with a DropBox link to the files. I sent 1 left and 1 right and a copy of a test stitch I made with them as well. Right after kickoff you can see the girl boot the ball when it is passed back to her, but you don’t hear it for maybe half a second or so.
In case you need them-
GoPro 11’s
5.6k 30fps
8x7
Resolution stitched is 7300x3600 and I chose the Right audio track.
I have very similar issues with noticeable audio lag after stitching; my quick take is that thesync offset isn’t getting applied to the audio channel but that’s just a very quick investigation. If i choose the the audio from the camera I start first, I get better results.
You know, I was JUST thinking about that this morning. Thinking, man, the audio really seems to be off by approx the offset that the align by audio makes. I’ll give that a shot as I’ve tried numerous different things to see if I can make a difference in the audio sync. Gchen has been super helpful along the way, just can’t get it dialed yet.
