Good afternoon, I am trying to stitch 2 videos together captured by gopro10. Whenever autostitch occurs, the right side of the screen is completely black and the left side is very distorted. What am I doing wrong?
There are several things that can go wrong.
First, make sure there is enough overlap between the left and right videos. (If you’re using the 3D-printed mount from the STL file on our website, you don’t need to worry about this.)
Second, confirm that both videos are recorded in a mode that matches the camera model you’ve selected. For the GoPro Hero 10, this means 5.3K resolution with both dewarping and stabilization disabled.
Third, try stitching different frames – especially those where many players are near the center – as this can improve alignment.
Lastly, if you’re certain the shooting mode is correct, try manually stitching the videos: How does manual stitching work?.
If none of the above resolves the issue share the original videos with me via https://www.swisstransfer.com and I’ll take a look.
Shooting mode is correct, and I am using the printed mount from the STL file. Tried manual stitching and it seems even worst than the autostitch (left side is completely faded now and right is still completely blank). Sending files for review.
Any update on my question? I have a few more games recorded this weekend which follow a similar issue.
I don’t think I ever received your videos. Can you send them via swisstransfer.com (and PM me the link).
Just sent the videos
Your videos were most likely recorded in Linear mode, which limits the field of view to about 90°. Because of this, there’s very little overlap between the left and right videos.
The videos must be recorded in Wide mode.
Thanks. Recording in Linear mode was the problem. I just recorded another game of wide view and it stitched perfectly. Is there some way to stitch the Linear mode recorded videos together, or is it a lost cause?
