Ghost at center line

Preface: this was shot using two Go Pro 9’s at 4K/30 on a SeeUsPlay rig. I have two Go Pro 13’s and a 3D printed mount on the way to do a comparison.

Any idea why players are disappearing/reappearing at the center line? I tried to manually sync the videos, but no luck. I tried to manually stitch too with 6-8 stitch points with the same results.

  1. Set first frame where players/ball are going through the center line
  2. Clicking on Sync

This is a stitching issue. If you want to use GoPro 9 you need to shoot at 5K resolution. This is because the only available calibration file for GoPro 9 (actionstitch-player/calibration/gopro_9.npz at main · gilbertchen/actionstitch-player · GitHub) was created for 5K, not 4K.

@gchen I tested out my new Go Pro 13’s using the existing calibration file that your team previously created. Do you think I am having a calibration issue? I tested two mounts: 3D print from your STL, and the SeeUsPlay rig.

SeeUsPlay Rig The field looks great but the clouds are blurry

Received some footage from the $1500 and $1200 a year Pixellot Air and it has ghosting as well. Just as a point of reference. I think the footage needs some space around the field to create the best stitch. That has been my experience.

@kteeeee stitching looks good to me in these images, but the best way to determine if its is correct is to check the stitching dialog (https://actionstitch.com/img/screenshot_stitch.png). The overlapping area should appear clean and sharp. If it is blurry and even has a double image, that means the stitching is off.

Here is the stitching dialog screen for both setups. The SUP rig does have some blurry and double image issues in the kick off circle, so it might be a calibration issue.
