How fast should the stiching process be working?

My PC rig is a Ryzen 5 5600X 6 core, 32GB RAM
GPU is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060

The processor is pegged at 100%
and the GPU is operating between 5% to 25%

Video is 5.3K 30fps from a Hero10

The stitching process tells me it will take approx 22 hours to stitch a 50 minute video? Is that the expected rate? I would haver expected to see the GPU used more and processor less

The time estimate seems to match the performance I’m seeing… 13 mins to process 30 seconds ==> 21.66 hours

I read in another post that real-time stitching with a GPU was possible. I seem to be off by several orders of magnitude.

Any insight appreciated!

Thanks,

-Chris

My PC is AMD Ryzen 7 5700G 3.80 GHz with 16GB RAM. The most recent game video is 1 hour 36 minutes and took 11 hours and 39 minutes to stitch. The video resolution is 7000x2100.

I have a RTX 3060 too but currently ActionStitch doesn’t use GPU so that doesn’t matter.

If you can post a few lines from the log file C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Application\ Data/actionstitch.com/ActionStitch/actionstitch.log like these:

then we might be able to see where the bottleneck is.

Thanks for the the response!

Do you have plans to support usage of a GPU?

-Chris

GPU acceleration has actually been implemented and I’ll try to get it into the next release.

Great news, thanks! You have a nice product here. If it gets sped up a bit with a GPU it will be very good.
