I understand that I have to buy a gimbal as you mention like Insta360 Flow Pro 2 then I tripod?
then there is a softaware to purchase?
Yes, basically all DockKit compatible gimbals except DJI Osmo Mobile 8 (because there is a DockKit issue that they haven’t fixed).
I would recommend Insta360 Flow Pro if it is within your budget.
A tripod would be nice to have. I used this one myself: Amazon.com : Kate Heavy Duty Light Stand Tripod - 15.7ft Air Cushioned Aluminum Alloy Lighting Stand with Tripod, 2 Sandbags & 1/4"-3/8" Adapter, 9.46lb Load for Studio/Indoor/Outdoor Video Photography : Electronics.
However, I found out that unlike other sports cameras, it is completely ok to film without a tripod with my app. You can just hold the gimbal in your hand and it will still track well.

What happened to the SBC device you delevoping?
After you receive the gimbal, send me your email address and I’ll invite you to Apple’s TestFlight program. You can then install the official TestFlight app, which in turn can install my app.
Beta testers can keep using the app for free as long as the app is installed via TestFlight.
There are still several happy users, but the main reason I didn’t continue to promote it, is that anything involving hardware manufacturing is extremely hard for independent developers like me, and the tariffs only made it much worse. Plus, the hardware specs weren’t exactly what I thought would be ideal.
This iPhone-based solution is better in every way: a better camera and far more processing power thanks to the iPhone, and DockKit means I don’t need to build my own gimbal.
A fun fact: my SBC (which became available at the end of 2024) uses a processor similar to the one in the XbotGo Falcon. Mine was actually more expensive, simply because the one they’re using now wasn’t available at that time. Both processors have the same NPU rated at 6 TOPS, roughly equivalent to an iPhone 11 (which was manufactured in 2019).

Are you planning on supporting other sports for the app? My interest would be lacrosse and football.
In the future, yes, but not at this time. However, I doubt that any existing sports cameras can actually track a lacrosse ball that is so small. So I guess if you use the soccer mode to track player movements it should be good enough.
Right, much like a hockey puck, it would be too hard to track, plus the ball is concealed most of the time in a player’s stick. I realize it would take machine learning and be based on movement of all of the players. Veo, Pixellot, and XbotGo are the only products I know that support lacrosse. It’d be nice to have more options. Was wondering what your roadmap looks like.

Hey there. I am interested in possibly trying this out. I have a few concerns- I assume that gimbal is not water proof? Have you had any luck in trying it in the rain? I would bet it would need a full cover to keep it from shorting? What is the battery life like? Would it need an external battery as well as the iPhone? I have been running the GoPro ActionsSitch setup for quite a while, rain or shine, so I am used to extra batteries. Thoughts on the longevity of the inexpensive gimbal? Quality looks like it might be pretty darn good. Do you have any full 11v11 videos I can see?
