I’ve been using Veo-Go with two iphone 16 Pros for a couple of weeks. I love that I can leave them unattended and not worry about tracking (I also have the XbotGo Falcon which I’ve stored away in case they ever get their tracking worked out). The problem with the Veo-Go is that the quality of the video downloaded from their app is terrible. I came across this stitching software and purchased it (trial didn’t work for me), not realising the camera choices were so limited. I did a trial run using the Veo-Go set up and manual recording (not through their app) so I could have the footage to put in the software. Now I’m stuck because I can’t choose a camera and have no idea how to add the iphone (so can’t stitch) or if it would even work. The answer may be a simple “No”, which means I’ve wasted my money but I was hoping that, even with some work arounds, it might be possible.
You’ll need to record a calibration video like this: https://download.actionstitch.com/calibration_sample.mp4.
A few notes:
- Use 0.5x zoom with stabilization off. The resolution should set to 4K.
- Don’t be too far or too close to the checkerboard. Move the camera around such that the checkerboard can cover most of the screen over time. At each position pause for a second – this helps reduce blurriness when extracting images from the video.
- You can download a checkerboard from Calibration Checkerboard Collection | Mark Hedley Jones (like the A2 25mm one) and show it on a large TV or monitor.
Send the recorded video to me and I’ll create a calibration file. Then you can choose this calibration file as the camera model and stitch the videos.
