You’r correct in that three cameras would make better video. I actually used a three-camera setup during testing before releasing ActionStitch. The main problem with three cameras is that it requires the cameras to have a horizontal field of view of around 90 degrees. It is hard to find such action cameras and the only one I know of is Firefly 8se which had been discontinued a while ago.
Yes i see. Bit Gopro 11 for example has on 16:9 ration 92 ° field of view with linear lens. So we can try to test it? No?
The linear mode just undistorts
the original frame and then crops out the center 92° view. It doesn’t give you better video quality, so there is no point to stitch 3 cameras this way.
So. How pixellot did it?
They can just pick a camera lens that has a horizontal FOV of 90 degree. If GoPro makes a 90 degree lens mod then this should work too.
