Three cameras Use

Hello Guys. I’m new in this, so… Maybe this is silly question but… Why we don’t use three cameras for stitching? This maybe give more “straightforwardness” to frame and greater, clearer coverage?

Thank you

You’r correct in that three cameras would make better video. I actually used a three-camera setup during testing before releasing ActionStitch. The main problem with three cameras is that it requires the cameras to have a horizontal field of view of around 90 degrees. It is hard to find such action cameras and the only one I know of is Firefly 8se which had been discontinued a while ago.

Yes i see. Bit Gopro 11 for example has on 16:9 ration 92 ° field of view with linear lens. So we can try to test it? No?

The linear mode just undistorts the original frame and then crops out the center 92° view. It doesn’t give you better video quality, so there is no point to stitch 3 cameras this way.

So. How pixellot did it?

They can just pick a camera lens that has a horizontal FOV of 90 degree. If GoPro makes a 90 degree lens mod then this should work too.
